RECALLING "THE AVENGERS" AND DIANA RIGG
In the 1970's Saturday evening at 7 meant pizza, french fries and "The Avengers" being shown in reruns by independent television station WBFF in Baltimore now a Fox station. The "independents" in television back then imported from the big cities to smaller towns by cable TV to give us sports from the big city teams and the old TV shows and movies among other things.
When Diana Rigg's co-star Patrick Macnee passed away Peter Hitchens noted how "British" and classy the show was. Indeed it hearkened back to the notion of a "Great Britain" as opposed to the "UK" of today a few letters short of its actual name.
I was young and immature back then when I watched this show and heck I didn't have a girlfriend to go out with Saturday night I actually had two of them and I won't say anything more.
I will remember Diana Rigg in a positive way this Saturday night. Acting in the classic style.
The folks in the here and now of the BBC and its "Newsnight" program spoke with Diana Rigg just over a year ago in the context of "International Womens Day".......

FREEDOM FOR BUNKERVILLE STANDOFF'S TODD ENGEL THIS WEEK, JERRY DELEMUS AND GREG BURLESON REMAIN IMPRISONED
Great news for Bunkerville Standoff prisoner Todd Engel. He is free after four and a half years in prison with his successful appeal to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals dismissing the rigged up conviction. The federal prosecutors like Assistant US Attorney Steve Myhre opting not to try again calling for dismissal of charges "with prejudice" this week. Todd Engel will not be tried again. The judge freed Todd Engel.
As we all now know in regards in Bunkerville the federal government deliberately withheld evidence from the defense lawyers proving the innocence of the defendants leading US Judge Gloria Navarro to dismiss the charges "with prejudice" against key defendants like the Bundys.
But before we knew that convictions for some people including Jerry Delemus who cut a plea deal taking bad advice from a lawyer. Jerry Delemus was co-chair of Veterans for Trump during the New Hampshire primary in 2016, then after that he was arrested. Jerry has posted that his appeal is being heard this month. And then there's Greg Burleson who got the worst of this rigged up corrupt federal prosecution process with a 68 year and three month sentence being handed down. Greg was a one-time FBI informant who spied on left-wing groups. But he got arrested in this fake case when he came to help the Bundy family in April of 2014. Greg ended up going blind while in prison. He was jailed without bail in essence defined as a "domestic terrorist" what our government has done to patriots since 9/11 and to its own people is so wrong. Edward Snowden helped exposed the illegal spying.
